Coronavirus or not, the attacks on firefighters do not stop. Thursday morning near Nantes, three firefighters were attacked by the man to whom they came to help, reports Sdis de Loire-Atlantique. This resident of Orvault, aged about thirty, had dialed 18 for "chest pain".

When they arrived, he first attacked them "verbally" before threatening them, which forced the three mobilized firefighters to "fall back to protect themselves". The man, who had consumed alcohol, did not stop there since he provided himself with “glass projectiles”, thrown in the direction of the rescue and victim assistance vehicle. The truck is "out of use for ten days and the repair costs amount to 500 euros", denounce the firefighters.

A complaint filed

The management of the Loire-Atlantique departmental fire and rescue service "strongly condemns this attack" and announces that it has filed a complaint. She recalls that in 2019, more than a hundred acts of violence against them were identified. About sixty assaults have already occurred during intervention in the department, since January.
