Nationalizations, requisitions to make masks, creation of a public drug center and suspension of rents: LFI deputies, supporters of "health mobilization planning", expressed their ideas against the coronavirus in four legislative proposals.

"Neoliberalism has organized chaos. Globalization and its corollaries of competitiveness, competition and austerity have weakened the sovereign capacity of States to face" the epidemic, say these elected officials led by Jean-Luc Mélenchon, in the preamble of one of these texts tabled Friday at the Meeting and transmitted to AFP.

The first calls for the nationalization of Famar (manufacturer of chloroquine) and Luxfer (medical oxygen cylinders), against the "logic of predation" that has harmed these companies. The cost of these nationalizations would be offset by the increase in the corporate tax rate.

The second bill aims to requisition during the state of health emergency textile companies for the benefit of manufacturing protective masks, the lack of which is "a scandal in its own right" and "a crisis in the crisis" , in the eyes of LFI elected officials. Their text prohibits relocations in the textile sector during the same period.

In addition, these deputies consider through a third bill that it is "the moment to found, to allow the end of the crisis, a public pole of the drug which allows us to ensure our independence, our sovereignty, and the quality of our healthcare system without taking into account the profits they generate. " Will be dedicated to this pole "the 6 billion devoted each year to the research tax credit", itself deleted because deemed "ineffective".

Finally, the LFI group wishes to suspend the "payment of rents for the duration of the health crisis in the country", as requested by associations and unions and as is the practice in some European neighbors.

"Any tenant in financial difficulty may interrupt the rent to its owner" and for the owners, would be suspended "the possibility for banks with which they reimburse their mortgage can add penalties in the event of suspension of reimbursement", specifies the explanatory memorandum to this latest bill.

As part of the state of health emergency, very small businesses in difficulty already have the possibility of deferring or spreading the payment of rents or certain invoices (water, electricity ...).
