Now that the Almedals Week is canceled, work is in progress to enable digital meetings instead. Elmia in Jönköping now claims to be ready to contribute with technical platforms. The company has a long experience in technical solutions, not least because they have organized the Dreamhack data festival since 2001.

- We have an incredible bandwidth and experience of streaming and connecting technical platforms, says Elmia's CEO, Lotta Frenssen.

A lot of work remains

According to Lotta Frenssen, Region Jönköping should have already contacted Region Gotland after the announcement that Almedals Week is canceled. Elmia will organize a digital week for companies, politicians and the media, but exactly how it will look or how a collaboration will look is unclear at present.

- This is only at the planning stage so far, a lot of work remains, not least in terms of how we work with Regon Gotland, says Lotta Frenssen.

She also highlights the fact that digitization was discussed during the Almedals Week in 2019.

- Now we can show that we not only discussed sustainability and digitalisation, but that we also live by it, she says.

In the clip below, Mia Stuhre, as project manager for the Almedals Week, talks about how it felt when the decision was made to cancel the popular week.
