Closed due to the coronavirus, some traders have decided to deliver. A way to preserve part of their turnover, to keep in touch with their regulars, but also sometimes the only way not to shut down.

Delivery to avoid bankruptcy. Since the closure of non-essential businesses and the establishment of containment, the majority of traders have had to draw the curtain. And to be able to reassemble it once the containment is lifted, some of them have acquired a new cap: that of the delivery man.

"We make deliveries of 10 to 15 kilos"

"I am overwhelmed, we get up at 3 am, and we finish at 5 pm", explains to the microphone of Europe 1 Francis, a youngster based in Tours who started delivery. It takes just an email, a click and 24 hours to place an order at a tray of strawberries outside his door. "People order in larger quantities, the children are there, there is no canteen. We make deliveries of 10 to 15 kilos, we are relieved for the rest."

This new activity offsets part of the loss of its turnover due to the closure of restaurants and markets. But it's also a way to keep in touch with your regulars. "I will remember the customers who placed orders during this difficult period," says Élise, a florist in Boulogne-Billancourt who also does home delivery. "Knowing that we are also supported, it eases our suffering."
