The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority has developed an "internal reporting of violations" service, to receive employee complaints and complaints about any wrongdoing or abusive behavior, or any illegal business / activities that may harm the work environment or the authority's reputation. The "Internal Violation Reporting" service won first place in the gold category of the "Ideas of the United States of America" ​​international competition in 2019.

The commission stated that it is keen to ensure the complete confidentiality of the identity of the author, and to preserve the rights and interests of the body and all stakeholders, in addition to supporting institutional governance and the principles in force in the body in accordance with the highest levels of transparency. The authority organized a series of workshops and initiatives to introduce the service available on the platform "Smart Office" internally, and to respond to questions and inquiries of employees and take notes and suggestions in this regard.

The managing director of the authority, Saeed Mohamed Al Tayer, said that the authority has adopted best practices developed by the World Bank for electricity and water providers around the world, and includes a comprehensive governance framework and the implementation of a policy and charter of governance. The commission adopts a protection policy that includes three defensive lines in which management and supervision are the first line; risks and conformity and legal and governance the second line; while the third line is internal audit. These efforts contribute to achieving the goals of Dubai Plan 2021 that the Dubai government be a pioneer, distinguished, transparent, reliable, sustainable and innovative in managing its resources, and the vision of the authority as a global leader in a sustainable and innovative world.

He emphasized that the governance model adopted by the authority has become an example to be followed for institutions worldwide, pointing out that the governance model in the authority accompanies rapid global changes based on four main pillars: trust, accountability, transparency and fair practices.
