Curiosity in power. The regional chain Wéo broadcasts, on Sunday evening, at 9 p.m., a documentary which risks causing a whiff of nostalgia to parents during this period of confinement and of schools closed until further notice.

For several months, the director Isabelle Bonnet-Murray followed a team of teachers in two CM2 classes in Creil, in the Oise to make a 52-minute film called Réenchantons l'école! . With, as a common thread, the “Savanturiers” program, an innovative pedagogy that puts science at the heart of learning.

Transmitting the pleasure of learning to children

"I wanted to show the daily life of these passionate teachers who reinvent school every day to make it more egalitarian and seek to transmit to children the pleasure of learning", underlines Isabelle Bonnet-Murray

Because the Freinet school in Creil, like others in France, is in the priority education zone (ZEP). At the turn of a recreation, we hear a student admit, after reflection, that he has no dream. An emblematic message of the social difficulties caused by certain neighborhoods. And yet ...

School memories

Here, it is Cédric who sets up a day where parents, from different countries, come to tell the students their own memories of school. History, geography and sociology lesson at the same time. Joëlle invites her students to question street furniture with an artist to imagine a more ecological city.

“Before embarking on this documentary, last year, I had just spent three years in different classes in France and Belgium to make short two-minute educational videos for teacher training, says Isabelle Bonnet-Murray. Creil was my last day of shooting and I felt that there was a particular dynamic. "

A dynamic that we feel by sharing the daily lives of teachers and students. A dynamic that will be able to revive when the school, like all those in France, reopens its doors.
