A medical committee at the American National Academy of Sciences reported to the White House with research showing that the Corona virus, which causes Covid 19, is transmitted not only through sneezing and coughing, but also through speaking, or even just breathing, according to the American CNN network.

According to a letter written by Committee Chairman Dr. Harvey Weinberg, the results of the available studies - although limited - are consistent with the virus's volatilization from normal breathing.

CNN quoted Dr. Weinberg - who heads the Standing Committee for Emerging Infectious Diseases and Health Threats for the 21st Century at the US National Academy of Sciences - as saying that his message sent on Wednesday evening came in response to an inquiry from the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy .

Weinberg, who also served as dean of the Harvard Medical School, told CNN that the research showed that droplets when talking or even breathing can spread the virus.

For his part, Dr. Anthony Fossey, a member of the Corona virus task force at the White House, said that the idea of recommending the use of masks widely in the United States to prevent the spread of the Corona virus is under discussion by the group.

According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the virus spreads from person to person when people are about six feet from each other (about two meters) through the respiratory droplets that result when the infected person coughs or sneezes.

In his letter, Dr. Weinberg stated that a study in a hospital in China showed that the virus could be suspended in the air when doctors and nurses remove protective equipment, when floors are cleaned, or when staff members move.

The letter also indicated that a study by the University of Nebraska showed that a genetic material from the Coruna virus was found in patients' rooms more than two meters away from the patients, according to the message.

The doctor explained that the corona virus droplets could get stuck in the air, and it may affect someone walking later. "However, the Corona virus is not as contagious as measles or tuberculosis," he added.

He said that the length of time the Corona virus remains in the air depends on several factors, including the amount of viruses that the infected person produces when breathing or speaking, as well as the movement of the air.
