The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation decided to abolish the remote work system for 16 industrial and service sectors at the level of private sector establishments, after these sectors were obliged to implement the work remotely and part-time, in light of the precautionary measures to limit the spread of the virus (Covid-19) ) Known as "the new corona", explaining that some activities will be excluded from the obligation to work remotely, so that it can work at its full human potential, taking into account the need to provide health and safety requirements and means to protect workers.

The Ministry indicated that it is an illustration of the exception mentioned in Article Three of Ministerial Resolution No. 281 of 2020 in the matter of organizing remote work in private sector facilities, and out of keenness to meet the basic needs and services of the UAE community in light of the precautionary measures to limit the spread of the new Corona virus, some Activities from the first article, which are related to reducing the attendance of workers to no more than 30% of workers in the facility, and reducing the proportion of customers to no more than 30% of the capacity, taking into account the need to provide health and safety requirements and means to protect workers and adhere to For other materials in the decision and infrastructure projects.


According to the ministry, the new list of activities excluded from remote work included "road and bridge work, water and wastewater resources, electricity and communications networks, building and construction sites, construction and contracting companies, engineering consulting, catering companies (including associations and stores selling food commodities), in addition to Food industry companies (including the manufacture and distribution of food).


The list also included, the education sector (includes schools, universities, colleges, and institutes), the hospitality sector (includes hotels, restaurants, and catering companies), energy companies (including oil companies, oil refineries, power plants, gas stations, and the sale and distribution of fuel), the financial sector (includes banks, exchange companies, companies Transfer of funds), health sector (includes hospitals, pharmacies, pharmaceutical production plants, clinics and all medical services), sterilization and cleaning materials production companies and medical equipment, and cleaning companies.
