So far, attempts to recruit a new specialist have failed. It was the regional board that made the decision in 2017 to start the reception to offer investigative and treatment efforts to those over 16 who depend on sleep remedies, sedatives or painkillers.
Substantial increase
Already in 2012 SVT News Örebro reported that the Dependency Center saw a need for a special reception for drug dependence. It was based on the fact that the number of referrals on drug-dependent patients increased and was a total of 50 in 2011. Today there are ten referrals every week to the Dependency Center.
- We are not surprised. We know that, for example, Tramadol has increased in somatic care. It is unfortunate that the business has not started, says Stefan Stjernström.
