The new figures that SVT can report come from the Stockholm region based on what has been reported. There are around 16,000 people living in about 400 special housing for the elderly in Stockholm County. There are one or more elderly people who are infected by covid-19 in 100 of the four dwellings, ie every fourth dwelling. The fact that 406 people were now found infected by covid-19 means that 3.1 percent of all residents were infected.

The number of infected persons is thus significantly higher than the 250 confirmed cases of infection in elderly housing in the region that SVT previously reported.

These figures came from the family-owned medical company, which is responsible for the medical care of a little less than half of the region's elderly residents and described the location of those homes. The new figures also include reported cases from the company Capio Legevisitten, which provides care to about the same number of elderly residents, as well as other care providers.

Delay of data

On Thursday evening, the Stockholm region cannot state how many of the infected residents' homes have died, as the information comes in with a delay to Infection Protection Stockholm. However, among the 250 infected at the elderly homes where the health care company Family Physicians are responsible for medical care, 50 have died.
