Crossroads in Malmö provides support and advice to EU citizens living in poverty and homelessness. During the corona crisis, Crossroads has been one of the few places the target group has been able to turn to for information about the virus.

- I go to the library after we stop here. Then I talk to friends about the coronal situation. I get no other information. Just here and from the library, says Nicolae Meres, who visits Crossroads almost every day.

Place manager: "Much fear"

The center's location manager Maria Kratz Larsen describes that their visitors feel worried about the corona virus.

- There is a lot of nervousness and fear and we have tried to meet that. Everyone who comes here gets a handshake and we inform about what applies to hand hygiene and to keep a certain distance.

Half have left the country

Since the corona virus broke out, the number of visitors to Crossroads has almost halved. Many have chosen to travel to Romania because they are afraid of getting caught in Sweden if stricter restrictions are imposed.

- Many have traveled back to their homeland in fear that they could be stranded here without their families and their children. These people cannot quarantine themselves - they are exposed in a different way, says Maria Kratz Larsen.
