The Criminal Court in Dubai ruled a year in prison and the expulsion of a cleaner who took advantage of his work in a watch and jewelry store in the Gold Souk area, and stole 86 precious hours, valued at about eight million and 375 thousand dirhams.

It also imposed the same punishment on two other persons, Asians, who had obtained the stolen watches, despite knowing their source.

In the investigations, the owner of the watch shop (Arabic) said that his activity is focused on selling precious watches and jewelry, and that he was surprised, while he was in the store, with an employee who tells him that he found a "Cartier" watch, half of which is gold and half of it is steel, whose value exceeds 30 thousand dirhams He was lying in a rubbish bin inside the store, but he didn't take it seriously, as he thought that she accidentally fell into the trash, but the employee did not stop there, but went to another employee, and told him what happened, and they reviewed together the surveillance cameras, and they saw the cleaning worker ( The accused) steals the watch, puts it in a box and throws it in the trash can, in preparation for taking it out of the store.

He added that he faced the accused, so he confessed that he intended to steal the watch because he needed the money. He stressed that this is the first time that he tries to do so, but the employee did not believe him, and he decided to make an inventory of the store.

He continued that he summoned the brother of the accused, who works in the same store, and faced the defendant again in the presence of his brother, so he admitted that he stole a number of hours, including a watch brand "Gerard Belques", worth 250,000 dirhams, and another brand "Julius Nardin", worth 270. One thousand dirhams, and sold them to a Pakistani person for 10 thousand dirhams per hour.

Asked why he sold expensive watches at this low price, despite knowing their value, he stated that he told the buyer that he had stolen them from the store, so the latter took advantage of him, and he gave him the price of one hour from them, and he delayed paying the price of the other. In the Public Prosecution investigation, the defendant admitted that he had stolen from the place where he works, and sold the movables he stole to two defendants (Harban). He was referred to the criminal court, while the other two defendants were referred to the court in absentia. The court ruled that the three be imprisoned and deported.
