The municipal companies were put into crisis on Monday following revelations about maladministration and possibly criminal acts by the company's management.

A CEO was fired along with his representative and the board was freed from work. But already a new responsible manager is in place.

- My job is not to look back and find someone guilty, others have to. Without me securing the operation of the company, says Mikael Bornandersson, newly appointed interim CEO.

Recruited from the outside

His most recent representative, Peter Scharff, was recruited from within the company but only had to sit on the service for four weeks before the audit report broke down and shook the business. This time, the municipality did not want to repeat its mistake.

- I think it is important that we now get someone from outside who can look at this, and who is not marked by what has been before, says Robin Holmberg (M), chairman of the municipal council.

Thinking of following the law

The companies' previous management must have deliberately violated the law on public procurement. Former CEO Benth Jensen reportedly explained that it was a law that did not fit their business.

- There is always room for interpretation in laws, but when it comes to applying in a municipal company, you always have to be on the right side. If there are any doubts, one should always reconcile with the competence and expertise that exists in the municipality, ”says Mikael Bornandersson as a comment on the representative's quote.
