The Department of Education and Knowledge confirmed that it has developed a plan that focuses on prioritizing the provision of logistical equipment and tools to schools with very low and low fees as the most deserving of assistance at the present time. The department has communicated with the private schools operating in the emirate and the families of students since the beginning of work on applying the distance education system to inform it of this decision.

The department said: "The process of shipping and delivery of logistical equipment and tools from abroad witnessed some delay, due to the pressure faced by the supply chains around the world after the outbreak of the Corona virus (Covid-19), as the priority at the international level at the present time is to supply medical and nutritional needs. Eligible schools that have received the devices and tools will need a few days to prepare them and download the necessary programs and applications before they are delivered to students. "

The department indicated that, in cooperation with its partners, it provided equipment, Internet connections, educational platforms and other resources to schools and families, without any additional fees. This support included 15510 tablet computers, 7000 thousand mobile SIM cards, 3000 "My Wi-Fi" devices and 1000 educational platforms, and 297 websites that offer free login feature. The department also provided extensive training courses to activate the distance education system in cooperation with a number of partners in the fields of education, technology and information technology such as "Platform A", "Renaissance", "myON", "Mathletics", "Amazon Webservices" and "Pearson".
