The deacon: "Now it is a crisis and we are in place"

Since a week, you can call a phone number that either a priest or deacon answers.

So far, not many are calling, but Amelie Junger believes that the need to talk to someone will grow with time as the economy gets worse and worries may increase.

"There may be a feeling of guilt, though we know that it is a virus that is the cause, and then you may not want to share your problems with any relative or friend," she says.

The priests and deacons have a duty of secrecy and should be a listening aid to the caller.

- This is an open telephone line, it is an open church by telephone. We have no solutions to the problems. Then you have to turn to specialists, but this is a human-to-human conversation, says Amelie Junger.
