"We would have been given permanent employment in May, but the notice came suddenly," says Ronak Hassan and clicks his fingers.

The manager of the meat factory Signal-Andersson in Mölndal had promised several people that they would get permanent employment. But with the spread of the corona virus and its economic impact on society has instead led to factory shutdowns. Four employees have been laid off and the remaining 120 people have gone down in the work rate, all to keep as many of the employees as possible

Ronak would watch football in England

Ronak Hassan had plans for the summer vacation this year. He would go and watch football in England with friends. But those plans were completely shattered.

- Real Madrid and Manchester City in the Champions League we wanted to see, he says disappointed.

But even the match is now canceled due to the corona virus.

Re-enrolling as a job seeker

We meet him at the employment office in Gamlestaden, where he has come to re-enroll as a job seeker. It is the last day of his employment and from April 1st he is again unemployed.

"We had nothing to do at the factory in recent weeks," says Ronak Hassan.

Had a new start job for just over a year

He used to come regularly to the employment office to arrange documents because he had a job in the form of new start-up jobs. This means that the employment service pays part of the salary and the employer the rest.

"I thought it was the last time I would come here and get help, but unfortunately I'm back again," he says, laughing.

Ronak got the council to join the A fund

He has been a part of the a-cash, which he is happy about.

- It feels good.

He received that advice from his manager, and he followed the advice. But there are several colleagues who do not have the A-cash.

"It will be chaos for them," he says with a heavy voice.

Hope for a re-appointment

In the future, Ronak Hassan will try to stay home and seek work online and through his network. Then he hopes that the factory may re-engage when the situation stabilizes later.

- But first, I'll take it easy and see what happens.
