In the old seaman's church in Gävle, the Music Hall's concert venue has become a television studio. Musician Rikard Sjöblom was honored to perform the first premiere live over the Internet. The idea is that there will be more, with different artists.

- It becomes a long-distance thing but still intimate when you are streamed into people's living rooms. It will be exciting, I have not done anything like this, ”says Rikard Sjöblom.

"Certain safety distance"

Gävle Symphony Orchestra has broadcast live once before, but then there were also audiences in the lounge of the concert hall, now they are preparing for several performances where they play alone in the room. The first broadcast is on Thursday evening.

"There are many in the community who have a really tough time now, and so it feels extra important that we do something," says Finndis Kristinsdottir, violinist.

The council in coronation times is to keep a distance, so the entire symphony orchestra no longer has a place on the stage at the same time. The musicians will take turns to broadcast concerts. Photo: Markus Dahlberg / SVT
