The Fujairah Appeals Court examined the case of a Gulf woman assaulting her husband on beating and breaking his fingers, after she closed the door on him in a family quarrel between them, which ended with mutual assaults between them.

The Public Prosecution referred the couple to the court on charges of mutual assault, and the wife said before the court that “a family quarrel broke out between them, and a mutual assault occurred between them, which prompted her to file a complaint with the police against her husband, and I was surprised that her husband filed a complaint against her as well.”

She explained that during the fight she escaped to the room, and tried to close the door to prevent her husband from entering, which led to the door being closed to his fingers, so he grabbed the door and tried to open it and pushed it with great force, which led to her injury.

While the lawyer for the defense of the wife presented her legal defenses, explaining that the hospital report proved that the wife had various injuries in parts of her body, which kept her out of work for 20 days, and the medical report did not refer to the size of the husband's injury.

The husband said in front of the court that differences arose between him and his wife, and they failed to reach a solution, which necessitated their going to the Personal Status Court, and led to the bad situation between them and the increase in the distance and the difference, continuing that «during a discussion between them the voices rose and the debate intensified, what made them lose their temper, and turned The matter to a fight and mutual assault resulted in a hand injury.
