01 April 2020 The coronavirus emergency also blows up the UN climate conference CoP26, chaired by the United Kingdom with the partnership of Italy. The appointment, crucial in the global battle against greenhouse gases, was scheduled in Glasgow for November, with two pre-summits expected in the previous weeks in Milan and Rome, but has been postponed to 2021, as the British government announced tonight without indicating yet a precise date. The missed agenda had been announced in recent months in London by Boris Johnson and Giuseppe Conte.

"The world - announced the British Minister of Productive Activities, Alok Sharma, appointed by Premier Johnson to chair the conference - is facing an unprecedented global challenge and the countries are rightly concentrated in efforts to save lives by fighting against Covid-19. This is why we decided to reprogram CoP26 ".

"We will continue to work tirelessly with our partners to realize the ambition to tackle the climate change crisis and I will take care of agreeing a new date for the conference," Sharma continued via Twitter.
