The government "is working on different scenarios for getting out of confinement," spokeswoman Sibeth Ndiaye said on Wednesday, referring to the criteria at play, whether it be screening tests or the number of admissions to intensive care.

"We see it in countries where the epidemic started earlier than in ours, many questions arise (...) on how we should organize not only the deconfinement (...) but also the after, "observed Ms. Ndiaye after the Council of Ministers.

"What is certain is that we still have scientific data to collect (...), which must enlighten us," she added, saying that it was "a bit early to organize an outing crisis "and that the government was" unable today to say when this crisis will end ".

For the moment, France is officially confined until April 15. However, the authorities have already warned that this period could be extended once again.

While the government "is working on different scenarios for leaving containment", the first criterion will be to ensure that "the epidemic regresses", by observing "the number of daily entries into intensive care units", detailed the spokesperson.

"Then, the deconfinement strategies are based on different piano keys", she further metaphorized, referring to "the degree of immunity in the general population", which will be measured in particular by serological tests, available according to Minister of Health Olivier Véran "in the days or weeks to come"

"We must look at the means of protection and the organization of the return to work, if it is necessary to make a massive return to work (...) and we must also look at the evolution of the epidemic elsewhere", added Ms. Ndiaye.
