An investigation into intentional homicide was opened on Monday in the Pyrénées-Orientales, after the discovery of the body of a man in Amélie-les-Bains, a small town located near the Spanish border. The corpse lay on the bank of a river.

Three people were taken into police custody overnight from Monday to Tuesday. This Wednesday afternoon, 20 Minutes learned from the Perpignan prosecution that two of the three people heard by the gendarmes in the context of the investigations were released, without any charge being brought against them.

Several stabs

The third person, a fifties, of German origin, was referred this Wednesday, within the framework of an opening of judicial information for intentional homicide. Requests for placement under a warrant have been taken, said the prosecution.

According to the first elements of the investigation, a "brawl between marginalized" would be at the origin of the drama. During this fight, the victim reportedly died from several stab wounds. The investigations are continuing.
