A man was sentenced to three years in prison in direct appearance by the criminal court of Nîmes, this Tuesday, for violence on his partner. The sentence is accompanied by a deposit warrant.

The gendarmes had intervened Sunday in Caissargues, in the Gard, at the couple's home. They had apprehended the violent husband, who was heavily alcoholic at the time. He had an alcohol level close to two grams per liter of blood. The victim was hospitalized and prescribed three days of ITT.

Pharmacies, dedicated number and online platform

During the confinement linked to the coronavirus, exceptional measures were taken to respond to the risk of an increase in this domestic violence. Pharmacies are able to receive the testimony of victims and to notify the emergency services, thanks to an agreement between the government and the order of pharmacists. A dedicated telephone number (3919) is also accessible 24 hours a day as well as an online platform.
