The increased pressure on Försäkringskassan is mainly reflected in the number of applications for infectious child allowance.

- We normally get 300 to 400 applications per year, but this year we have received over 800. We have not seen such a thing for a while, but it depends on the special situation, says Udin.

E-service for salary compensation

Many people want compensation for the abolition of the election day, but there is no legislation in place yet.

- You cannot apply until a decision has been made and the new legislation has come into force, which we expect will happen on April 7. We are developing a simple e-service for the waiting deduction.

The Swedish Social Insurance Agency has now trained a number of attorneys in the country to handle applications for infectious carrier allowance.

- When it comes to handling the waiting period deductions, we have not put in any extra staffing. It's a hard pressure, but we can handle it, says Udin.
