“The termination of investigative actions under quarantine conditions, as well as the prohibition of lawyers and members of the PMC of Moscow (in the pre-trial detention center - RT ) are a violation of human rights, despite the fact that these measures are taken to preserve the health and life of people," the statement said.

The chairman of the PMC of Moscow also called on the courts to grant a deferral of sentence to those sentenced to administrative arrest or to replace it with an alternative sentence.

Georgy Volkov recalled that in a pandemic, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, appealed to all states with a request to release prisoners who are not dangerous and to unload prisons as soon as possible.

Earlier, RT reported that since March 31, the admission of lawyers, investigators and members of the PMC has been suspended in the pre-trial detention center.
