Esport and, not least, virtual racing and rally games have seen a real boost during the corona pandemic. Both Formula 1 and Indycar have started organizing live broadcast competitions in which everything from ordinary car athletes to celebrities and esports professionals participate.

Warmland Oliver Solberg was quick to catch on to the trend and became one of the first in the rally world to organize a major competition in virtual rally - The Solberg Race.

In one week, a total of 4,500 participants took part in the competition, which now looks to provide additional rings on the water.

New championship in progress

- Now we will try to get to a championship, says Oliver Solberg, who also received an invitation to participate in one of the upcoming virtual F1 competitions - just like Dad Petter.

When Oliver Solberg can be back and compete in a real rally car again remains to be seen.

- I don't think it will be until Rally Finland in August, he says.
