A 48-year-old man living in the commune of Saint-Pierre-de-Plesguen (Ille-et-Vilaine) was tried on Monday before the Saint-Malo criminal court for having violently struck his 75-year-old mother in the face, reports Ouest-France . The events took place on the 27th at the family home. After consuming alcohol heavily, the son attacked his mother.

Wounded, she had finally found refuge with neighbors before calling for help. Arrested by the gendarmes, the forty-something man was placed in police custody before being tried in immediate appearance. He was sentenced to twenty months in prison, ten of which were suspended.
