SVT Jämtland has spoken to the Director General of the Public Health Authority Johan Carlsson, who tells us what caused Skistar to close all ski resorts in the country from 6th April.

- Skistar wanted advice on how to do it, says Johan Carlsson. And given the burden that care could be given if a lot of people come to the mountains during Easter, we recommend not to be open.

Risk of overload

During Easter, there is usually a much higher burden on the care of the larger resorts. With the ongoing corona eruption, there is a risk of overloading the ski resorts

- We're not really afraid of the spread of infection anymore, says Johan Carlsson. The ski resorts have taken measures to reduce the spread of infection, but that is because the health care risks being overloaded in an already stressed situation.

We do not yet know how the ski resorts in other parts of Jämtland and Härjedalen intend to do.
