House of Councilors Settlement Committee Discussion on economic measures, etc. due to spread of new corona infection April 1, 5:14

In the Diet, the Prime Minister and all ministers attended the settlement committee of the Upper House of Councilors while taking measures to prevent the transmission of the new coronavirus, and the ruling and opposition parties engaged in debates over economic measures and other matters.

At the House of Councilors' settlement committee, Prime Minister Abe and all the ministers will attend and ask questions on the settlement of accounts of the country in FY2018 on the 1st.

In the Q & A session, the ruling and opposition parties will discuss the economic measures against the spread of the new coronavirus, the necessity of an "Emergency Declaration" based on the Special Measures Law, and the issues surrounding "Moriyu Gakuen".

To prevent the transmission of the new coronavirus, the Committee has decided to take measures such as increasing the distance between ministerial and parliamentary seats. In the Diet, plenary sessions were held in the lower house on the 2nd and in the upper house on the 3rd, and questions continued over the postponement of the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics.

The ruling party will not leave the Diet in the future, but wants to pass a supplementary budget for the new fiscal year that incorporates economic measures before the major holidays.

On the other hand, opposition parties have decided that economic measures should be formulated as early as one day, saying that the Abe administration is responding slowly, and demand that a large supplementary budget be drafted.
