It was after a shootout at Östermalm in Eskilstuna last year that a man showed up at the emergency room at Mälar Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

According to police theory, the suspected offender should then have moved on a dark moped from the scene.

"It's a hypothesis we have," said Commissioner Jonas Bergman at the Eskilstuna Police Unit for serious crimes to SVT News then.

According to information in the lawsuit, it must have been an electric bicycle that the perpetrator stole and then moved away from the scene, and not a dark moped that the police previously believed.

Denies crime

Until September, the man was on a free foot before being arrested and then arrested on suspicion of crime.

Now, the man at Eskilstuna District Court is being charged with attempted murder, serious weapons crime, theft and minor drug offenses.

The man refuses a crime for the shooting.
