In order to maintain their study funding, there is a so-called free amount of just over SEK 90,000. Anyone who earns more than half a year is not eligible for full CSN.
But to reduce the shortage of staff in healthcare due to the corona crisis, the government, the Center Party and the Liberals are now proposing that the free money be removed. In this case, it should apply to everyone studying in health care education and to doctors, nurses, other health care professionals who are currently studying.
The proposal is part of the crisis package presented by the January parties on Monday. The scrapped free amount costs SEK 1 billion and the entire crisis package amounts to a total of SEK 10.8 billion. The Government will submit the proposals to Parliament shortly.
