During the month that the police have worked on the basis of the operation called Operation Rimfrost, which focuses on shooting and blasting, 17 people have been arrested, of which eleven are detained.

Now that the reinforcements - in the form of more police officers in the field and in the investigation - will come Jale Poljarevius, regional commander-in-chief, hopes that one can put in another switch.

- If the criminals have been under pressure in the past, it will increase even more now. We hope to be able to get results so that security increases in Uppsala, he says.

Has selected 110 people

Prior to Operation Rimfrost, the police have invented the city's gross crime and now 110 points will be marked.

- They figure in different gang contexts and belong to local networks. Of Uppsala's total 160, we have selected these 110. We will also be accommodating and ask them to jump the criminal life, says Jale Poljarevius.

It's been quieter for a while. Is this effort needed now?

- I think we follow the same pattern as last year, then it looked the same and then something happened. One should not draw any hasty conclusions about this.

Operation Rimfrost is expected to last for ten weeks, then the reinforcement disappears and the police switch to what is called Operation Iris, which will work according to the same method.
