A fire broke out in a building located on a street in the center of Evreux (Eure) around 4.30 am on Monday. The fire, which started from a 10 m2 apartment, spread in the attic and on the two floors of the building, reports Actu.fr.

Two people in serious condition

In total, around thirty firefighters were mobilized on the spot, helped by the police and Smur. The firefighters were able to extinguish the flames using fire hoses.

Eight people were injured and transported to Evreux hospital. Among them, a 50-year-old man was severely burned. A 30-year-old woman also defenestrated herself to escape the flames.
