The singer Christophe, composer of "Aline", 74 years old, was hospitalized and admitted to intensive care because of "respiratory failure" according to those around him who was unable to confirm contamination with coronavirus on Sunday.

The composer was "admitted Thursday evening in a Parisian hospital", explains Laurent Castanié, producer of shows, confirming information from the newspaper Le Parisien. "From medical sources, his condition is currently stable and he is very well supervised and monitored by the medical staff," he continues.

"In the current context, we are obviously concerned. We are unable to confirm whether it has tested positive for Covid-19," added Mr. Castanié. Le Parisien claims that the author of "Mots Bleus" has tested positive for the coronavirus.

"We ask everyone to respect their privacy and not to disturb the medical services of Paris hospitals, which are far too busy at the moment," he concluded.

His hospitalization moved the world of entertainment on social networks. "All my wishes for speedy recovery," posted Michel Polnareff. "Christophe hold on, I beg you. Hold on, I beg you. I love you very much," wrote singer Keren Ann.

Actor Jean-Paul Rouve also tweeted, "Thought for you my friend. Take good care of yourself. I know you will come back to us even stronger, even funnier". With, in the blink of an eye, a reference to the night owl life of Christophe: "and we will go to dinner at 11 pm when you wake up".

Jeanne Mas also tweeted "a loving thought for my friend Christophe". And to add, by quoting the words of a famous song signed by the duo France Gall-Michel Berger: "Resist, follow your heart which insists, fight, sign and persist".

- the "beautiful bizarre"

The composer is always in tune with the times, as evidenced by his recent albums "Christophe, etc", volumes 1 and 2, released last year, where he resumed his standards with performers of all generations.

The cast of the first part was solid - with Étienne Daho, Camille, Sébastien Tellier, etc. - just like the second, with Arno, Laetitia Casta or Jeanne Added.

But who would inherit "Aline" - absolute classic - for volume 2? The challenge has frightened more than one: "I'm not going to give names of showbiz guys who had promised me, but who were not finished ...", confided to AFP in December on "beau bizarre" (the title of his eighth album).

"I was thinking of people less close to me, I didn't want a woman, I wanted a guy, it lasted quite a long time," he said behind his blue smoked glasses. "She is a girl who, on a boat in summer - I go boating - said to me + why not ask Philippe Katerine? +". "He said yes right away, it's a great meeting," he punctuated.

When asked about this concept of duo, he confided in leaving "really room for the other. It's an experience". With his sense of formula, he summed up the throes of creation in this way: "I know my ups and downs, I had beautiful downs". Tireless, he was already working on "a new original album, 10 songs, no more, which got off to a good start too".
