Luca Romano is often on the phone and it's not just about basketball. He has many balls in the air. He has the whole world in his phone, statistics on the spread of infection, contact with his loved ones but also voluntary commitment - to keep in touch with the elderly here in Umeå who may need some company and sometimes help with practical things.

"Right now it is only possible to talk on the phone, we must respect the restrictions that are and be afraid of the elderly," says Luca Romano.

The cousin, however, in covid-19

He personally knows how quickly someone with underlying disease can fall victim to covid-19. His cousin fell ill after being in contact with someone in northern Italy. After six days in hospital, he died earlier this week, 69 years old.

"It was not even possible to hold a funeral, everyone is forced to stay indoors so it was only the priest there," says Luca, who keeps in touch with the elderly almost daily here in Sweden and in Italy.

Luca Romano believes it is extra important to stay in touch during times of concern for corona. He himself has his entire family in isolation at home in Italy.
