It was at half past twelve that an alarm came to the police about a brawl at an address at Ättekulla town center.

"When the patrol arrives at the scene, they are met by a man in the stairwell and a threatening situation arises," says Patric Fors, a police spokesman.

Even then, the police fired at shots in the stairwell, without anyone being hit. The man disappeared into an apartment and shut himself up there.

"We don't know if it's his apartment," says Patric Fors.

- He was alone in the apartment and we tried to get in touch with him

Ambulance on site

The police had several patrols and also an ambulance in place. Whether the man was armed or not, Patric Fors does not want to comment.

- This is such a task that is part of the preliminary investigation confidentiality.

Big fences

According to the witness Peter who was present, the fences were very large.

- I would tip between 500 and 800 meters, he says.

- There are a lot of police here and the response force has also come here. The police do not want to say much, but we have been told that we should keep our children indoors.

Unclear motive

At half-past two, police confirmed that the man was arrested and taken to hospital. In connection with the man surrendering, it became threatening again and one of the police officers fired his service weapon. The man was hit in the leg. It is unclear how seriously injured he is, but he was taken by ambulance to hospital.

What is the motive behind the event is so far unclear.

- This is one thing that will clear up later, says Patric Fors.

The apartment should be examined

The barriers have been reduced, but not canceled. This will not happen until the police have completed their technical investigation. Among other things, the apartment in which the man barricaded himself should be examined.

As a police officer has used his service weapon, the case is reported to the Special Prosecutor's Office and therefore the police do not disclose more information about the fired shots.

The man is suspected of attempted murder and serious threat to an official. More criminal charges may be added.
