“Due to the unfavorable epidemiological situation, the operating mode has been changed in the capital’s departments of the registry office from March 28 to special orders,” the Moscow Mayor’s website said in a statement.

Now, it will be possible to receive public services in the registry offices only by appointment, with the exception of death registration and registration of marriage and divorce, according to previously submitted applications at the appointed time.

At the same time, only five guests will be able to attend the ceremonial registration of marriage.

Birth registration will also be carried out only in the Novomoskovsky, Novofyodorovsky, Troitsky departments and the registry office of Southern Butov.

Earlier, Nevsky Novosti reported that the authorities of St. Petersburg asked residents of the city to reduce the number of guests at weddings and postpone trips to the registry office until April 30 due to the spread of coronavirus.
