“The illegal activity of a criminal group consisting of residents of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic and the Stavropol Territory involved in the modernization of civilian weapons into military counterparts for the purpose of their subsequent sale was stopped,” the DSP said in a statement.
It is specified that during the operation the investigators seized three submachine guns, nine pistols and revolvers, four hunting carbines and rifles, as well as various ammunition and gunpowder.
Earlier, FSB officers detained two students on Sakhalin who were planning an armed attack on a college. During the search, they found weapons and ammunition.
