Due to the restrictions on movement in the new country, the Oulu Police Department carries out official inspections of air passengers traveling to Helsinki-Vantaa airport at Oulu and Kuusamo airports.

The official inspection shall establish the passenger's reason for departing from the flight. The reasons justifying the flight must be stated orally or in writing.

The purpose of the movement restrictions is to curb the spread of coronavirus from Uusimaa to other parts of Finland. The restrictions took effect on March 28. and are in effect on April 19th. until.

Leisure travel is not a sufficient reason and in these cases boarding is denied. The police will make a necessity assessment on a case-by-case basis.

For the time being, no written certification from the employer is required, but one is recommended. Restrictions on movement are not made in advance by the police.

Restrictions on movement apply in principle to anyone who has no explicit reason to move from Uusimaa to other parts of Finland or from Finland to Uusimaa.
