March 28, 2020 The oxygen tube to which he was attached slipped out, got out of bed, got dressed and ran away from the room in the Covid 19 ward of the Biella Ponderano hospital. It happened on the night between Thursday and Friday.

The man, a 60-year-old resident of Valle San Nicolao, a small town in the province of Biella, around 11.30 pm eluded the surveillance of the nurses to leave the hospital and head towards the city. When health workers realized the escape, they alerted law enforcement. So a real manhunt started and, in the middle of the night, the man was blocked in the center of Biella, in via Tripoli.

The man had been hospitalized on Saturday evening, March 21st, following the worsening of his state of health. The swab performed identified it as coronavirus positive. There is now concern for the police officers who had to approach him, touch him and sit him on the car to block him and transport him back to the "Degli Infermi" hospital.
