Italy crossed the threshold of 10,000 coronavirus deaths on Saturday March 28, with 889 new fatal cases registered in the past 24 hours, Italian civil protection said.

The peninsula has recorded a total of 92,472 cases of contamination.

With 10,023 deaths, Italy is the most bereaved country in the world by this pandemic. It recorded a total of 92,472 cases, with a contagion that continues to slow slowly: + 8.3% Thursday, + 7.4% Friday and + 6.9% this Saturday.

Over 20,000 dead in Europe

Lombardy, the main focus in the country of the pandemic, has registered 542 new deaths in the last 24 hours, for a total number of 39,415 cases.

The Covid-19 pandemic has already killed around 30,000 people worldwide, including more than 20,000 in Europe.
