28 March 2020In Brazil nobody forgets what happened at the 'Minerao' stadium in Belo Horizonte in the 2014 World Cup semi-final.

Germany defeated the hosts 1-7, but now that bitter memory, thanks to an online sale, has yielded 800 thousand reais (about 140 thousand euros), part of which will be donated to the hospital in the capital of the state of Minas Gerais for the purchase of respirators and masks for staff working in the facility, particularly in the intensive care unit. Another part of the proceeds will be donated to three socio-sanitary projects.

The managers of the stadium, which held the memorabilia of that World Cup, have decided, in collaboration with the German NGO Dawh Brasil, to cut the two goals that saw the conclusions of Klose, Kroos, Muller and Khedira into small pieces and to put them up for sale online, at 71 euros each. The online sale was a great success, particularly among the German fans, who quickly bought their heirloom.
