A sixty-four-year-old man died in the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires today, after contracting Coruna, making him the first person to die from the emerging virus in Latin America, according to the Ministry of Health.

A statement from the Ministry of Health stated that the man from "Buenos Aires" has a history of "diabetes, high blood pressure, chronic bronchitis and kidney failure".

According to the ministry, the man was back on February 25 from a trip to Europe, and made it clear that he started experiencing the first symptoms on the 28th of the same month. The ministry did not specify the country he visited.

The unidentified man was taken to hospital after he consulted a doctor on March 4 because of a fever, cough, and sore throat, according to the explanations he had given himself.

In Argentina, there are 8 cases of the emerging coronavirus.

With this, all continents of the world, with the exception of Africa, have witnessed deaths from the virus, which first appeared in China in late December, and that has since caused more than 3,000 deaths, and tens of thousands infected.
