Sweden now has 3,064 confirmed cases of the new corona virus and 92 deaths. 209 people are cared for or have been cared for in the intensive care unit.

- It is under pressure in Stockholm but there is capacity left, and there is plenty of capacity in the rest of the country, says state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell.

As in other countries, it is clear that people in the group who are over 80 years of age are most at risk of becoming seriously ill or dying. No person under the age of 50 has died in Sweden.

The United States a moment of concern

In Europe, there are now 232,000 confirmed cases and around the world 468,000 cases.

- The United States is now the country with the most cases, and that is our great cause for concern.

In order to level the curve in Sweden, the Public Health Institute is working on strategies to try to get the spread of infection as slow as possible.

- We do this by urging people to stay home if they are ill and then for two more days. It is very important to remember.

Do not travel away for Easter

Anders Tegnell says he has seen tendencies that people are starting to come back and we should not get into that, he says.

- Now is a critical phase. We are starting to approach Easter and it is important to think about their travels. Absolutely do not go and greet older relatives and do not go to any events.
