Canal + refuses to pay the Professional Football League the next deadline for TV rights in Ligue 1, suspended due to the coronavirus, according to a letter from the boss of the group Maxime Saada to the LFP, quoted by L'Équipe.

"It is not conceivable that we will pay the installments to come, even though due to the suspension of the Ligue 1 championship, no match can be played and, consequently broadcast on our antennas", writes in particular M. Saada at the LFP, according to the daily.

On April 5 Canal +, the main broadcaster of Ligue 1, was to pay 110 million euros, and BeIN, another broadcaster of the championship, 42 million euros, according to L'Équipe.

Canal + and BeIN share for the 2016-2020 period the broadcasting rights of Ligue 1, up to 762 million euros.
