Nearly half of the world's population is now in some kind of quarantine, AFP writes. This means that over three billion people have been asked to stay home.

One of the countries where there is a curfew is Jordan.

Have put everything in order

The Jordanian society is traditional and patriarchal and in families it is still common for the man to work and the woman to stay home and take care of the children and the household. It is unfair and far from equal, at the same time it is often the women who decide in the home. She nurtures the children in her own way, she decides what to cook for dinner and in general she often has the last word.

But now everything has been put to an end.

“The children are at home and struggling like never before. When I tell them to stop, my husband lays in and tells me to stop screaming. I raise my children as much as I want, ”says one woman.

"Come home with flour and demand that I bake"

The female voices come from a Whatsapp group in Jordan. There it is common for people to communicate in different chat groups, for example, friends in between. And instead of writing, you send voice messages to each other. I was reached by the votes through a friend in Jordan who forwarded the messages.

A woman complains that her husband wants to be looked after all the time. He wants to be served tea, a while later he wants coffee, and then tea again.

"And not only that. He also came home with flour and demanded that I bake bread. I don't have time for that, ”she says.

Thought of passing by outside the police station

In Jordan, the military and police have been out to make sure people stay home. As in other countries you can only go out if it is absolutely necessary, to buy food, go to the pharmacy or buy drinking water.

A woman in the Whatsapp group asks if anyone knows where the nearest police station is? She intends to go outside so the police seize her for breaking the curfew.

"I don't stand out at home," she says.
