As part of the travel measures taken to curb the spread of the virus, the invading Corona virus and its spread across the world has disrupted air traffic in many countries.

Pictures showed large numbers of aircraft types that are parked at several airports, as international airlines face an unprecedented crisis in finding places to park them, after converting corridors, runways and maintenance rooms to the positions of these aircraft.

The Los Angeles Times newspaper said that American airlines withdrew hundreds of commercial aircraft and stopped them at remote desert airports, in the hope that air traffic will return to normal activity.

The newspaper indicated that the outbreak of the new Corona virus (Covid-19) caused many planes to leave the service, to the point that the planes became filled with runways and public corridors that are rarely used.

Because of the sharp drop in demand for air travel and the restrictions imposed on flights to international destinations, Delta and American Airlines, one of the largest airlines in the world, announced plans to allocate places to stop more than a thousand aircraft combined.

On its part, Southwest Airlines said it had stopped twenty 737-700 aircraft over the weekend.

Impact and repercussions
The spread of the Corona Virus has a great impact on the movement of air, as some planes fly almost empty due to the travelers canceling their reservations collectively for fear of infection with the Corona virus, or because their paths are severed as more countries continue to close their borders, forcing airlines to change their flight schedules. unexpectedly.

Because of the spread of the epidemic, US airlines reduced their capacity by more than 1.4 million seats in the past week alone, according to Airlines data.

Some of the country's busiest airports have also become ghost cities, with traffic at Los Angeles International Airport dropping 38% in the second week of March compared to the same period in the previous year, according to data analyst firm Plasr.

It is noteworthy that the concerns of airlines are increasing amid the continued travel ban and the decrease in demand for flights.

Earlier, global airlines appealed to governments to accelerate rescue deals for the air transport sector, after they doubled their estimates of billions of dollars in losses.
