Iranian accounts on social media claim that a British teacher and others have managed to heal themselves using alcohol and honey, and this and other stories are widely circulated.

While the circulation of other messages about the use of alcohol-based hand sanitizers, some people mistakenly believed that drinking highly concentrated alcohol would kill the virus in their bodies.

Fear of the virus, in addition to poor education and Internet rumors, has led to dozens of poisoning by drinking methanol alcohol in Khuzestan Province in southwestern Iran and the southern city of Shiraz.

Videos broadcast by Iranian media showed patients lying in hospitals due to poisoning, while the country needed hospital beds to treat patients with the Corona virus.

Husainian said that counterfeit alcohols killed in two provinces more people who died due to the virus. He added: “They think they drink ethyl alcohol, but what they actually drink is methanol alcohol or alcohol extracted from wood, this leads to organ failure, loss of vision, Unfortunately, many people have died. ”
