France will switch to summer time on Sunday March 29, and this may be one of the last times this change has taken place. But in the midst of a coronavirus epidemic, the French are especially wondering if this lag represents an hour more or an hour less ... to be spent in confinement.

It's almost time for daylight saving time. Sunday March 29, you will have to think about putting your clocks forward one hour: at 2 am, it will be 3 hours. And this time change could be one of the last.

59% of French people would prefer to stay in summer time

The European Commission having proposed the end of the seasonal time change, the European Parliament had voted in early 2019 a bill to this effect. By 2021, each EU country should thus choose which time, summer or winter, it wishes to set.

During a European consultation conducted on the Internet in 2019, 84% of the 4.6 million respondents said they were in favor of the end of the time change. And if daylight saving time has had their majority preference (in France, it received the assent of 59% of voters), divisions persist however, in particular according to the geography of the country, and therefore its sunshine.

But in the midst of a coronavirus epidemic, the subject is far from being the center of concern. On Twitter, many Internet users joke about this, wondering if the transition to summer time would mean an hour more or less ... to spend in confinement. And like every time change, no one can agree.

It is this weekend the time change? Do we gain or lose an hour pissing off?

March 29 is the time change! first time in human history that the question "do we sleep more or do we sleep less?" »Will not arise since: we earn just 1 hour more at home as if we already had not enough

I see messages passing on the time change in “don't forget March 29th time change time” mode. We can stay an hour longer at home. Cool right? "
