To finally get out of containment and overcome coronavirus, the Scientific Council recommends the implementation of a large-scale screening policy. If France manages to multiply them, two types of tests will have to be carried out.

How to get rid of coronavirus, and once and for all? According to the Scientific Council, the screening test is the most effective weapon to get out of containment without risking a second wave of contamination. Provided, of course, to have enough in stock, which is still far from being the case in France.

Today, France is carrying out 5,000 tests of Covid-19 per day. By way of comparison, Germany has 12,000. Olivier Véran, the Minister of Health, however announced Wednesday at the National Assembly, that the number of tests would be multiplied, reaching 25,000 per day within two weeks. But in view of the release from confinement, the Scientific Council recommends a screening policy on a much larger scale.

Two types of tests would then be useful. The classic, called PCR, which is carried out by sampling from the nose into the throat, indicates in a few hours whether the person tested is contaminated or not. At the time of deconfinement, it would ideally be necessary to screen all those who still present symptoms, as well as their entourage. If positive, they could be put in isolation for another 14 days.

The other type of test is called serology. Thanks to a simple blood test, it would allow everyone to know whether or not he was infected with Covid 19. A way to identify the famous asymptomatic patients who have been infected but have not shown any symptoms.

Patients who are already infected are in fact immunized, and knowing the number of people who have been infected is therefore important: if 50 to 60% of French people have crossed the virus, that will die out by itself since the population will be collectively immunized.
