In the Black Sea during scheduled flights on March 25, the Su-27 of the Russian Aerospace Forces crashed. According to preliminary data, the plane crashed into the sea.

As initially reported by the Ministry of Defense, the signal of the emergency fighter beacon was recorded on March 25 at about 20:11, 50 km from Feodosia.

“For the search and rescue of a pilot in the area of operation of the radio beacon, forces and means of search and rescue services of the Southern Military District were quickly raised: the An-26 plane and the Mi-8 helicopter,” the ministry said.

A small anti-submarine ship of the Black Sea Fleet and civilian vessels in the immediate vicinity of the scene were also sent in search of a pilot.

In turn, the Rosmorrechflot told RIA Novosti that two tugboats were participating in the search - the “Rescuer Demidov” and the “Mercury”, as well as the ship “Volgo-Balt 179”.

Later, a representative of Rosmorrechflot said that beacon activity was noted in the Black Sea, which may indicate that the pilot managed to escape.

Two vessels were sent to the site of activity. However, later the Ministry of Defense reported that the information on the beacon signal in the search area during the additional reconnaissance was not confirmed.

Nevertheless, as reported by the Ministry of Defense, search and rescue activities continue in three areas of the sea with a total area of 350 square miles.

The operation involved 11 ships and vessels of the Black Sea Fleet, the border service of the FSB of Russia and civilian vessels, the department said. Also, air reconnaissance is continuously conducted continuously by the crews of four helicopters, including the use of unmanned aerial vehicles of the Black Sea Fleet. Four more ships and a rescue ship of the Black Sea Fleet are ready to go to sea.

In turn, the regional Hydrometeorological Center said that the rescue operation is complicated by gusts of wind up to 17 meters per second.

“In the indicated area it is sunny, but there is excitement at sea, up to one or two meters, the north-east wind, 10-12 meters per second, with gusts up to 17 meters per second, the weather is unfavorable. The temperature of sea water is 7 ° C, ”the report said.

The Ministry of Defense also reported a four-point storm in the area of the operation.

On-site rescue operation is coordinated by MRCC Kerch (marine rescue coordination center).

The Su-27 is the fourth-generation Russian multi-purpose highly maneuverable all-weather heavy fighter. It is designed to gain air supremacy: conducting long-range and short-range air combat, intercepting and destroying manned and unmanned aircraft over its territory, and also to ensure the actions of the fleet at a distance of 300-400 km from the coastline.

Also on the eve of the Krasnodar Territory crashed light-engine training aircraft L-39. As a result of the incident, a fourth-year cadet of the Krasnodar Higher Military Aviation School of Pilots died. The pilot performed a planned training flight without ammunition, they told the Ministry of Defense, noting that the cadet's flight time on aircraft of this type is more than 60 hours.

They added that the pilot took the fighter away from the nearest village, which avoided the destruction of the earth. The pilot used an ejection system, but there was not enough height for its regular operation.

“According to the report of search and rescue service specialists from the crash site of the L-39 aircraft near the village of Dmitrievskaya (Krasnodar Territory), the pilot died. The plane crashed into the field. There is no destruction on earth. One of the causes of the disaster is the technical failure of the aircraft, ”the report said.

In 2016, an accident involving the Su-27 fighter also occurred in the suburbs. The plane took part in demonstrations dedicated to the opening of the monument to aviators in Ashukin. The cause of the disaster, according to preliminary data, was the failure of technology. The pilot took the plane away from the houses, but he did not have time to eject.

The largest plane crash involving a plane of the Russian Ministry of Defense over the past few years occurred in 2016. Then the Tu-154, flying to Syria through Sochi, crashed over the Black Sea. 92 people were killed, including 64 participants of the Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian Army named after A.V. Alexandrova, nine representatives of the Russian media and the famous philanthropist Elizabeth Glinka, who sent humanitarian aid to the SAR.
